(3985 “prove” [peirazo] means tempt, try, assay, examine, to learn the true nature or character of, to attempt, endeavor, scrutinize, or discipline.) DEVOTION:  Jesus chose twelve men to train for the ministry. HE only had three and a half years to train HIS disciples. One of them was going to betray HIM so HE really only would have eleven disciples at the end of the training period. Each occasion was a training occasion in the life of the disciples while they were with Jesus.
